When I was a little girl, my parents were fond of saying that I would befriend a grizzly bear if I could. I wouldn't hesitate to walk up to a complete stranger and strike up a conversation - I just really enjoyed meeting new people and making friends.
Fast forward many, many years down the road, and that love of building relationships has been the key to my personal and professional success. The ability to connect with people and build solid, trusting relationships was central in my work as a Development Officer in High Education, as an administrator in Workforce Development, and as a Job Developer working with people with disabilities. In addition, I spent 8 years in the United States Army Reserves where I further developed my leadership, communication and negotiating skills.
